Apple Pastry, with Love

I love sweets, BUT I love savory food better (except for ice cream). Because of that, when I go out for dinner I’m usually too full for dessert. Depressing, isn’t it? The advantage of cooking dinner at home is you have plenty of time to wait in between dessert! I’ve been trying to find some simple and easy weekday desserts. This Apple Pastry is so delicious and pretty. No one will believe you when you tell them how simple and easy it was to make. Really, please try this—tonight!

Apple Pastry

Apple Pastry
Serving: 4

1 package of Puffed Pastry (should come in a couple of sheets)
2 apples
brown sugar
powered sugar

Take 1 sheet of the frozen puffed pastry out of the freezer. Let it sit out for about 5 minutes. Unfold and cut in half or into thirds. Place on foil lined cookie sheet that’s been sprayed with cooking spray. Spray the top of the pastry.

In a bowl, add apples that have been cored and thinly sliced (see picture). 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Stir until even distributed. Start lining up the apple slices on the strip of pastry leaving edges at the top and bottom.

Cook for about 10 minutes in 350 degree oven or until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if you like!

Do you have any quick desserts I could whip up during the week? Share them!
